So it’s Tuesday, not Thursday – but one of my favorite videos came across my Timehop app and I had to repost. From 5 years ago today…

It’s been awhile since we checked in on Maile Gaga. She’s still rocking!
And in case you want to relive previous Maile Gaga moments:

Tonight I was putting Maile in her jammies. We were in her bedroom. I had left the music playing in the other room. You could barely hear it, but all of a sudden, Lady Gaga came on, Maile’s ears perked up and she started doing a little shimmy on her changing table. I finished dressing her, brought her into the other, restarted the song, and below is what transpired…
(Dad note: I realize it was only a few months ago that I published the original Maile Gaga, but does it really ever get old? Also, I did add the song in using iMovie, but only because it was hard to hear on the video – trust me it was playing while she was doing her little booty shake…)

From the beginning, Maile has had some Gaga in her.
Today she put together this ensemble – which definitely reminded Christine and I of her Maile Gaga namesake…

On the way home from work on Friday, I passed a street vendor selling little pink guitars (I actually thought it was a ukulele at the time, but Christine informed me it was actually a guitar because it had six strings instead of four). In any event, I couldn’t help myself – I instantly pictured Maile Girl rocking the guitar – and boy I wasn’t disappointed!
(Note: Mommy and I went a little overboard on the video/photo coverage of Maile’s guitar playing – hence the flashes while she is playing. I guess we are just getting her used to the paparazzi 😉
And here’s Maile’s first song with the guitar – I think we’re almost ready to submit to American Idol 😉 (And yes, she does indeed say “The song is coming out now” right before she starts…)

We arrived back in San Francisco tonight, but we still have some highlights from our NYC adventure to share. Last Thursday, Maile and I spent the day exploring the city. At one point we headed down to Union Square and ran into some break dancers performing in the subway station.
They looked a little scary to be honest (due to the masks), but I decided to see if Maile would be interested in watching. She was definitely a little scared (she would only get so close), but also completely enthralled. We ended up watching for about 15 minutes because every time I tried to leave, she would say “more more”…
We’ll have to wait for the next Maile Gaga video to see if she picked up any new moves!

Memories saved – priceless!
A special shout out is in order to the Mommy behind the scenes – 90% of photos and videos you see on the blog are done by Christine. Sitting down each evening and seeing what she’s captured is one of the best parts of my day.

On a personal note, this blog is a part of my routine now and as I mentioned above, I love doing it. The moments of reflection it gives me today are worth the time alone, but when I think about the story that is being pieced together for the future, continuing is a no brainer. For those of you who read regularly, I hope you enjoy the adventures of our little girl and that more often than not, she brings a smile to your day!
All our best on the eve of 3,
Matt, Christine and Maile
