For the past month and a half, Maile and mommy have been having play dates with some friends about once a week. It’s a great chance for the mommies to hang out and talk shop – and the babies like to … well, they pretty much do what they would do anyways: play, eat, cry and sleep. Sleep should actually be first in that list because invariably at least one of the babies is always asleep when they are hanging out. That is until yesterday – a milestone if you will – all the babies were awake at the same time!
Through the wonders of the internet, I got to video chat with Grandma Jill and Grandpa Mike tonight. They showed me some new clothes they bought for me. They wanted to make sure I liked them before they sent them out to me. I loved everything – how could I not love it when Grandpa introduces the outfits like this? I hope it looks just as good on me!
Now that Maile is able to hold her big head up a bit better, she’s been spending some time in her Bumbo chair. It seems to help her sit up a bit straighter and its been great when we video chat with the grandparents (we just put the chair on the desk and it makes it easier for us to talk … well, talk might be a bit strong, its mostly staring right now.)
Hmm... that foot thing doesn't look too far away from here. I bet I could get that in my mouth. Mental note to try that some day soon...
Apparently Maile went for a walk with Mommy last week and saw some cute outfits she liked at Baby Gap. When she got home, she asked me if we would buy them for her. Given she has a closet full of clothes she hasn’t even worn yet, I told her no.
So what does she do?
When I’m not paying attention, she tried to sneaky take money out of my wallet!
Maile looks beautiful wearing the new hair clip that Grandma Gail sent, right? Such a cute look on her face, right?
Well, consider this a little “peek behind the scenes” – it’s not always easy to “get the shot” with our baby girl… here are a few of the 16 pictures it took to get it right. Imagine if we were still using film! (Oh, and Maile if you are reading this in the future and wondering what in the world “film” is, here is a link that explains.)
Mommy and daddy took me to Fort Mason today. Fort Mason is a big park that’s right near our apartment. We had a lot of fun being outside. There was even a concert going on a short distance away so we had some music to listen to. The music wasn’t as good as the stuff that comes out of my play mat at home, but daddy said it was a “nice touch”!

Mommy is so interesting to look at - she fascinates me!
Yep, that's me smiling - I like it outside!
Okay, take the picture already and get these things off of me!
Maile has apparently become a bit bored with the whole feeding process and decided to increase the degree of difficulty. Recently, she’s decided that feeding time is a perfect time to explore her surroundings by looking around all over the place – especially when its daddy’s turn with the bottle.
