Surprisingly, I actually like these things. Quite comfy...
... although they do kind of push my cheeks together a little bit!
This weekend is Big Game – the annual football game between Stanford and Cal. Apparently, this is a big deal as my daddy is quite excited. I like watching football with him, so I figure going to an actual game should be lots of fun!
I did mention to mommy that I was a little concerned about all the loud noises. I am still a baby after all. Mommy consulted with Wills’ mommy (he’s an old pro and has been going to Stanford football games all season). Wills’ mommy suggested getting these ear muff thingies that I’m wearing in the picture. How cool is that? Now I’m all ready for the game! Go Cardinal!
(Dad note: I know this might shock you, but these baby ear muffs were not created to take babies to football games. Nope. They were created so you can take your baby … hunting. And I quote, “Great for taking the kids hunting and protecting their hearing from dangerous gun shot noise.” Yes, must protect the babies from the dangerous gun shot noise.
Bonus is that I guess I can take Maile hunting now. Click here if you want a pair for yourself.)

We’ve noticed a change in Maile over the past week or so – she seems much more curious about everything going on around her. She’s reaching out and grabbing objects more, she seems more directed in her playing and she is always looking around. When you hold her and walk around, her head is constantly swiveling from side to side.
(This might also be why she isn’t as excited about napping anymore – just too much interesting stuff going on to waste time sleeping!)
The past couple of nights I’ve had some good quality Maile time after work before she went to sleep. Last night I babysat because mommy went to a concert with her friends. Tonight, the whole family had some fun just playing around on the floor. Below are some pictures – I titled the post “curious” because as you can see, Maile is quickly becoming fascinated by the camera we often have stuck in her face!
What's this thing daddy's face is hiding behind? Can I see him in there?
Seriously, what you are hiding from me in there?
Good thing you aren't using the flash otherwise I'd be blind!
Please can I see the camera? Pretty please?
I won't break it. Promise. Tell him mommy. I'll be very careful. Baby pinky swear.
