Check out this fun toy bag, hiding place that my Auntie Elyssa got me! I think its the only Hanukkah present I’ve gotten so far that I like better than the wrapping paper it came in!

We took some pictures for our holiday card. This one didn’t make the cut – Maile basically decided that she was “over” the holiday card thing… but don’t worry – we did get some good shots!

Hanukkah is the best – I got my very own Wills!
Here’s some video of me playing with my new Wills. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up!

On Friday night we celebrated Hanukkah for the first time with Maile girl. Our original plan was to celebrate with Maile’s friend, Wills, but unfortunately they got stuck down in Palo Alto (yep, Maile got stood up!) We called an audible and celebrated with just the family (and then we actually did a second Hanukkah for Dan, Esther and Wills when they arrived a little later).
Maile seem to like the candles and she really liked eating the wrapping paper off her gift (and then later the gift itself). Daddy did his best with the prayer – although Dan and Esther put him to shame when we did round 2 with Wills. Luckily, Maile was already asleep so as far as she knows, Daddy is the best at the prayers. I’d be remiss if I didn’t add, that Mommy made some truly excellent sweet potato latkes!
See below for a video of Maile’s first Hanukkah – we hope everyone is having a great holiday!

We’re off to bed early tonight – need to rest up and get well, we have a big day tomorrow: Maile’s first Hanukkah with a surprise guest!
We’ll leave you with a quick video of Maile reading – with her mouth as always…

After a brief delay due to Maile’s cold (she’s still got the sniffles, but doing just fine) – we decorated our Christmas tree tonight. Chris has all her ornaments going back to when she was born! She has one for each year – and they all have a story. Even though the Christmas tree isn’t a part of what I grew up with, I like the tradition – its a great way to remember the stories. I really look forward to when Maile is a bit older and Chris can tell her about her childhood as we put up the ornaments.
Here are some pictures we took as we decorated the tree…

You’ll have to wait another day before getting the view of our Christmas tree. Unfortunately, Maile girl has come down with her first cold. It’s nothing serious – some adorable sniffles, a little runny nose (less adorable) and a slight cough. She’s having a little trouble sleeping – the phlegm gets caught in her throat and wakes her up, but other than that she’s been a champ, eating and playing at almost full speed.
I’ll spare you the snot pictures, but here’s a shot of Maile and daddy trying to keep warm…

On Saturday, Mommy and Daddy took me to go Christmas Tree shopping. I always like looking at the trees when I go on my walks – this was even better. There were trees EVERYWHERE! We went to this big house looking place that was just full of trees. How fun would it be to live there? (Dad note: we were at the Festival Pavilion down by Fort Mason.)
Below are some pictures we took of our Christmas tree hunt – since its my very first Christmas tree, we took our time to find the perfect one…
So what did we end up with? Stay tuned!
TO BE CONTINUED…
