Growing up with a little of both and the lessons learned along the way
From the monthly archives:

When I woke up this morning Mommy told me some great news – while I was sleeping Duke beat Butler to win the Men’s Basketball National Championship! I told Mommy to pull out my Blue Devils onesie and pop my milk bottle because it was time to celebrate!
I also asked Mommy to pat my back (my arms are too short and I can’t reach): you might recall, that I had the Blue Devils winning in the bracket I filled out. In fact, Daddy told me that I came in 3rd place out of 80 people in the March Madness pool that he entered my bracket in. He assured me that’s quite good. In fact, he whispered in my ear and told me that he has never done that well in a March Madness pool(!)
(Dad note: for those counting at home, Maile has now won the Super Bowl prop bet pool she entered and placed 3rd in a March Madness bracket pool in her short life. Do they let 9 month olds into casinos?)

Maile has taken quite an interest in anything electronic and breakable – particularly our iPhones. Daddy decided to “sacrifice” and picked up an iPad so that Maile could have more time with the smaller version…

Yep, we had a surprise for Maile on Friday afternoon – Auntie Elyssa came in for a visit! Last time Auntie Elyssa saw Maile was over Thanksgiving – she’s changed quite a lot in the past 4 months!
Elyssa jumped right in with helping to take care of Maile and playing with her – and cooking great meals for mommy and daddy. We all agree, Auntie Elyssa can come visit anytime she wants!

With all this talk about Hot Tub Time Machines, we decided it was time to upgrade Maile from her baby tub to the regular, big girl tub. The baby tub served us well – we basically used it almost every night starting about a month after Maile was born. But as the video below shows – Maile is really loving all the new space she has to explore:
NOTE: I’m also going to file this post under “posts-Maile-will be-super-embarrassed-by-in-about-12-years”… sorry Maile Girl!

Sunday was a busy day – one official holiday (Easter) and one unofficial holiday (baseball opening day). Both firsts for Maile girl so she wanted to make sure she was putting her best foot forward. What’s a girl to do outfit-wise? That’s easy – she just did a few costume changes throughout the day…
Maile started out in her Easter gear…
And then in the afternoon, we transitioned to Red Sox gear to prepare for the Red Sox/Yankees game…

We returned home from New York today and Maile wasted no time displaying some skills she must have picked up on the streets of the Big City when I wasn’t paying attention. You may recall from a few weeks ago, that Maile was intent on breaking in to our electronics cabinet. Well, upon our return it took a matter of minutes to accomplish her goal…
