Chris and I are trying to get in shape and we found this excellent new aerobics teacher. The best part is that she comes to our house and is really cheap – only 10 blueberries!
(Dad note: My favorite part is about 1:25 in…)

We hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s Day. Maile woke us up this morning and we opened all our Valentine’s Day cards. Maile loved the cards everyone sent (thank you!) and the little necklace that came with the card Mommy and Daddy got for her. And we loved the cards Maile made for us.
Maile Girl's Valentine's Day outfit (+ new necklace).
Maile also made cards for all her classmates. We brought them into school to give out. Unfortunately, Maile apparently grew somewhat attached to them (she did make them after all) – so she wasn’t a big fan of giving them to her friends. Apparently, she carried them around in a bag all morning, but finally decided to share them with her friends after nap time. Good job, Maile Girl!
At the school all the kids have a mini mailbox – it’s ridiculously cute. Here’s Maile checking out what is in hers:
Maile also made Valentine’s at school for Mommy and Daddy. Here is the one she made for Mommy – can you tell what we’ve been working on?

Daddy: Maile, nap time – let’s go take a nap.
Maile: No nap! I’m not tired.
Daddy: Really, you look exhausted. Are you sure?
Maile: NO SLEEP! I’m NOT tired!
Daddy: Okey dokey, Maile Girl.
Daddy, I'm not tired, really. I don't want to go to ... zzzzzzzz....
Nothing like a little yoga to kick-off the weekend!
Ready? Let's begin....
Plank pose.
Tree pose.
We decided to turn on the Duke vs UNC game tonight after dinner. Maile Girl threw Christine and I for a loop when she told us she “liked” the white team (which happened to be UNC in this case). We talked through it with her and finally got her straightened out… but it was a little touch and go there for a moment!
(Dad note: Maile Girl went to bed before the end of the game – but I’m pretty sure she’d fully be behind the Blue Devils after that finish!)

Guess who came to visit for the past several days? Yep, Grandma and Papa Boston! So much fun. They picked me up from school on Thursday afternoon and we went non-stop. We hit museums and parks and went shopping, lots and lots (and LOTS) of eating. The highlight was definitely on Friday when Grandma and Papa came to school with me! How cool is that? Papa talked to all my classmates about being a dentist and Grandma handed out mirrors so we could look at our teeth. We all got to ask questions too. I was so proud to have my Grandma and Papa come to my school!
Grandma and Papa picked me up after school and we hit downtown...
Papa and I goofed around - he's so silly!
Grandma and I hit the stores - I showed her all the dressies that I liked...
Papa was my transportation - I hope his back isn't too sore!
3 generations all together for Daddy's birthday!
My birthday is in July. But my daddy’s birthday is on February 7th. He’s going to be pretty old, more than 3 I think. We celebrated on Sunday and I helped him blow out the candles. We both made wishes. I hope mine comes true (his too).
(Dad note: My birthday is always a fun time to look back at how Maile has helped me celebrate. Check out last year and two years ago – which will absolutely blow your mind!)

Contrary to what you might think reading this blog, we aren’t constantly following Maile around like the camera crew from a reality TV show. However, we do take more than our fair share of photos and videos of our little girl. She’s starting to take notice too and is becoming increasingly clear when she wants to ham it up for the cameras and when she wants Mommy and Daddy to leave her alone.
This video starts off capturing one of Maile’s cute new activities (reading made up stories from books), but quickly becomes an example of this new exertion of image control. If she starts demanding grilled cheese with the crust cut off brought to her trailer, we’ll know we have a diva on our hands…

Mailes loves her some apple sauce!
Mommy has been sketching me again. Isn’t she talented? I hope I can draw like her one day!
