Growing up with a little of both and the lessons learned along the way

I really like eating eggs. Hard-boiled ones. Especially when my Grandma Gail makes them for me. You know what is even more fun than EATING eggs? PAINTING them! (Plus, after you paint them, you still get to eat them. So it’s a win win!)

I was finally able to look at some of the pictures Grandma and Papa took last week in NYC and couldn’t resist posting this shot of Maile and Papa…
It was a great trip and we had lots of fun with Grandma and Papa. We can’t wait to see them again in a couple of months!

This is one of my favorite type of posts to do. Every once in awhile, I’ll post a picture and it will job the memory of the grandparents and Christine or I will end up with an email with a picture from way back when that basically is exactly like the one we posted of Maile. The apple indeed does not fall far from the tree!
Here’s a couple that we received last week…

On Sunday, Maile and Mommy headed to the park with Maile’s classmate Victor and his parents for an egg hunt! Maile had been practicing all over our house, so she was ready to hit the ground running when she got to the park.
(Thanks to Victor’s dad for all the great pictures!)

We had an action-packed holiday weekend. Many props to Mommy for lining up a series of Passover-themed and Easter-themed events for Maile Girl.
First up, Maile and Mommy made charoset this afternoon. I wish I could tell you how it tasted, but Maile ate all of it soon after mixing the ingredients together.

We’re all beat from a long day of traveling back home to San Francisco – more tomorrow…

On Sunday, Grandma Jill and Papa Mike came in from Boston to join us in NYC and have fun with Maile while Daddy and Mommy worked on Monday and Tuesday. We need to get all the pictures from Papa, but they had a bunch of adventures all over the city – they hit the flower show at Macy’s, a kid’s play space that had a tree house, John’s Pizza, Shack Shake, FAO Schwartz, shopping down in Soho. Rumor has it Grandma Jill is going to take Maile Girl over to the MOMA tomorrow morning before we all jump on a plane and head back home.
Maile is a lucky girl that in the span of one week she got to see both her grandparents (even though they live on opposite sides of the United States!)

We’ve been staying in a very tiny hotel room for the past few days and Maile is loving all the quality time she is getting with her Mommy (especially) and Daddy. (Meanwhile, her Mommy and Daddy are “mostly” loving it… getting Maile to sleep without being able to leave the room has been the biggest challenge.)
There is no bath tub in our hotel room, so Maile has been taking a shower just like Mommy. And that means putting her hair in a towel just like Mommy. And wearing the same pajamas. If Maile wasn’t 3 feet shorter, I’d say I was living with twins!
