On Thursday morning, the doorbell rang at about 6:30 in the morning. Who rings a doorbell at 6:30 in the morning? Grandma Gail and Grandpa Cal, that’s who! Straight in from Hawaii just to see little ol’ me.
Grandpa Cal jumped right in and fed me breakfast. He didn't eat anything, but I think he would say it was one of his favorite meals ever!
After breakfast, I took Grandma Gail out on the stoop and caught her up on everything new in my life.
We had quite the weekend – I’ll catch you up over the next few days…
Short post tonight because Mommy and Daddy have been really busy at work. The other morning Mommy even had to take a call at 6:30 AM! I had Daddy setup my computer and I helped Mommy take notes. We make a good team – I think she should hire me as her assistant and take me to work with her.
During our trip to Chicago, Daddy kept saying things like “bogus” and saying we were just like Bill and Ted. I had no idea what he was talking about – so just like any other 14 month old, I jumped on Google and quickly figured out he was referencing a movie from the late 80’s called “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure“…
I agree with my dad that the reference basically works, except that instead of going on an adventure to “olden times”, we were going to see some “old timers” – (don’t blame me for that one, Daddy made me put it in…). Although it was a quick trip, we saw Great Grandma Bea, Great Grandpa Irv, Aunt Julie, Cousin Donna, Uncle Jimmy AND Grandma Jill and Grandpa Mike even came in from Boston to meet us!
I had a lot of fun seeing everyone and showing them all my new tricks (mostly walking and standing up all by myself). They mostly just wanted to give me kisses – its a good thing I like kisses, because I got A LOT of them!
This weekend Daddy and I went on an adventure to Chicago. We just got home so I’ll tell you all about the trip over the next couple of days, but I just couldn’t wait to tell you about the hotel room we stayed in. Apparently, when Daddy travels without Mommy he goes first class all the way (or maybe its just when he travels with me?) There was a bathtub in our room that was basically bigger than my crib at home. It was huge! Daddy says that such a large tub is often called a jacuzzi.
In any event, I like my daddy’s style and I couldn’t wait to share. More to come soon!
(Dad note: Don’t tell Maile Girl, but the truth is as follows: when we checked in, I was carrying all this stuff (the suitcase, the diaper bag, my backpack, Maile in the stroller, plus a gallon of milk and a bag of groceries I picked up). They give me my room key and I trudge up to the room only to find that there is already someone in the room. It was actually another family and the dad answered the door and offered to help me bring everything back downstairs (that’s how pathetic I probably looked). So I go back down and I think they felt bad (plus I had Maile Girl put on her best “I’m-smiling-and-cute-but-look-in-my-eyes-at-how-exhausted-I-am” face) – so they hooked us up with the pimp daddy suite.)
Maile Girl here. If you didn’t know already, Mommy is in New York again this week. I just wanted to report in and make sure everyone was aware that Daddy is putting me to work. I mean, I’m all for helping out around the house… but this is ridiculous.
Daddy when I said I'd help bring in the groceries, I was kind of thinking I'd carry the bread or an apple or something. This might take me awhile.
