I’m On the Nice List!

by Maile Girl on December 13, 2011

Guess what? Santa sent me a message – yep, lil’ ol’ me! It was kind of a performance review, Mommy and Daddy said they do those at work. We discussed my year and then it was decision time – apparently there is a “nice” list and a “naughty” list. I made it on the “nice” list! (I was a little nervous because I was a bit of a pill on Sunday. Apparently, this decision was made a few weeks ago, so I was in the clear.)

(Dad note: the video is a little longer than normal, we taped the whole message.)

If you want to see if Santa left you a message, Daddy says you can look here.

Want to have some fun? Grab a laundry basket and an Uncle Stephen and away you go!

Papa got involved too - he's the O.G. of laundry basket roller coasters!

Whenever we go to the dentist (e.g. Papa) over Thanksgiving, I try to take good care of Mommy.

I'm right here for you Mommy, just squeeze my hand if it hurts...

This appears to be a bit more complicated than when we brush my teeth at home!

Mommy returned the favor by keeping me company when it was my turn - she helped me to be a very brave girl!

(Dad note: This year’s visit was definitely a break through for Maile Girl. She hasn’t been the best patient during past visits. This year started off with lots of tears, but Maile completely relaxed after seeing Mommy get her teeth done and then didn’t freak out at all when it was her turn. Hat tip to Lynn who really helped make Maile comfortable – the huge bag of prizes and stickers helped too!)

Great Grandma Judy’s Jewelry

by Maile Girl on November 24, 2011

The way I understand, my Great Grandma Judy is my Grandma Jill’s mommy. It sounds a little complicated, but all I know is that she has amazing taste in jewelry! Apparently, she gave a bunch of her favorite bracelets and necklaces and earrings to Grandma and today she brought it out for us to play dress up with. Grandma Jill let me put ALL of it on – at once! – which is cool, because there is no way I could have chosen just a few things. I loved everything and wore everything around all day long (much to daddy’s dismay when it came to nap time)…

I couldn't decide on just one bracelet, so I put them all on!

Apparently these earrings are a little loose, but my understanding is that I can have holes put in my ears that will make them stay better. I'm going to have to talk to Mommy and Daddy about that...

Don't I look beautiful?

Boston, Here I Come!

by Maile Girl on November 21, 2011

Daddy said that since I'm two now, he needs to pay for my seat on the airplane. I decided I'd get creative and see if there might be another way for me to fly!

My First Slow Dance

by Maile Girl on November 7, 2011

On Sunday, I decided to put on a fancy dressy. I picked it out myself. It’s actually two separate dressies that I combined into one. Daddy said I looked so beautiful that I should be dancing with someone. I thought he meant to Lady Gaga, but he actually said we should try “slow” dancing. I told him I didn’t know what that was (typically dancing with Daddy is pretty fast) – he said he’d show me.

Slow dancing was lots of fun. Daddy said I could only do it with him for now though. Fine by me 🙂

Daddy, I just wish these could be permanent...

Daddy, I just wish these could be permanent...

What do you think? I kind of like it. I just wish they could be permanent. I’ll have to look into that one day…

(Dad note: This is my fault. Maile was looking through her Halloween bag and I decided to take a quick look at my email. Next thing I know she has tatted up “sleeves”. I really hope this is a phase she grows out of…)

Maile Has A Dinner Party

by Maile Girl on October 26, 2011

On Sunday, Jasper and Everett came over for dinner. They live in New York and were in town visiting their Gramma. I slaved away at my kitchen all afternoon, but for some reason Mommy decided to serve them food from our other kitchen. I guess she thought my donuts didn’t come out nicely.

We did have lots of fun though. Jasper is a couple years older than me and he can read. He read me a book! Dreamy, right?

Apparently, I impressed every one with my hospitality (that’s a big word!) because Everett covered the dinner party on his blog too!

Maile Girl here. Just an FYI to all the under 2 set hanging out in the greater Bay Area – the O-Zone (that’s what I call my friend Oliver) and I are the BEST at tailgating. Andrew Luck takes care of things on the field and we take care of business right outside Gate 12. Check it:

Maile Girl - oh no, did we forget the bottles of water!?

Don't worry O-Zone, I gots you covered!

Maile, this hat is pretty badass, right? Totally, O-zone. Totally!
