We’ve been having so much fun with Grandma Gail and Grandpa Cal visiting that we are a week behind posting about some of our adventures. The Saturday before Halloween, we all piled into the car and headed out to Half Moon Bay to check out the pumpkin patches.

Grandma Gail really outdid herself this year. Keeping with the annual tradition, she made Maile’s halloween costume. This year, Maile actually was able to request her costume – Elmo!
The costume is amazing and Maile had a lot of fun wearing it (well, truth be told, she had a lot of fun wearing it all weekend and then strangely pitched a fit when her friends came over to trick or treat with her). Maile invited a few friends over and we did some trick or treating practice around the courtyard (baby steps before heading out into the big, bad city!)
After trick or treating, we didn’t think the kids had enough sweets, so we headed inside and Mommy helped everyone decorate Halloween cookies!
All in all it was a fun start to Halloween! Happy trick or treating!

Maile Girl is a little too young to be carving pumpkins, but Megan had a great idea to make sure she could still partake in the tradition. She picked up a bunch of mini pumpkins and Halloween stickers and then showed Maile how to decorate the pumpkins. How cool and creative is that!?
Maile loved it – our apartment is now really festive. There are Halloween decorations on the walls and a line of 8 mini pumpkins that Maile and Hannah decorated with their stickers. Thanks Megan!
