(Dad note: be sure to watch the final video in this post. You won’t be disappointed.)
We’ve been exploring more and more of the city on the weekends. On Sunday, Mommy led us on a fun excursion to the Seward Slides mini-park over in the Castro. The slides are these two long (and steep) concrete slides that you can ride down on pieces of cardboard.
So those were some shots getting to the top… how did it go going down the slide? Well…
Maile Girl started strong and then had second thoughts…
So Daddy agreed to go down with her the first time. Which was a good idea. Sort of. Daddy forgot that his younger daughter is slightly more adventurous than her big sister. So then this happened…
Awesome.

We arrived to prepare for the parade at 3 PM and didn’t finish up until 8:30 PM. What does one do during all that time? Lots and lots of pictures 😉

Grandma and Papa Boston escaped from all the snow and are here visiting us for the week!

On Saturday afternoon, Mommy took the girls to get some Japanese American culture at the Japanese American National Museum. Conveniently, there was a Hello Kitty exhibit going on – so needless to say, Maile and Lauren are big fans of “getting cultured” now 😉
(Dad note: Mommy also found some cool immigration records for her family – will definitely be fun to share with the girls when they are a bit older…)

The only one missing is one with her sister where she is likely hitting her because she isn’t getting her way 🙂

It’s been awhile since we’ve posted a family picture. This one was from Boston over Thanksgiving – we headed into town and explored Faneuil Hall for the day.

I can now confirm that teaching an “almost” two year old to play hide-and-seek is one of the great joys of life. First Maile, now Lauren – both are absolutely hilarious. It looks like Grandma Jill and Mommy had a lot of fun with Lauren!

Tonight, Maile and Mommy went to an ice skating event with Maile’s school down at Embarcadero Center. It wasn’t her first time, but we actually hadn’t gone in awhile. They had a blast and I think we are rocketing towards ice skating lessons for Maile Girl.
I arrived towards the end and caught a video of Maile doing her thing on the ice…

At most hair studios, you, the customer, get to choose what style you want.
At Maile’s hair studio, you, the customer, get whatever she wants to do … and it often matches whoever else is getting their hair done at the same time.
Thus, we have “Mommy and Lauren are matching…”
Note: I also love Lauren’s look throughout this – not clear she really has any idea what is going on, but if it pleases her sister, she is game!
