After spending the day with Mommy, Auntie and the rest of the girls getting all ready and pretty, the time came for the actual wedding. Lauren joined Maile, Chris and I at the wedding ceremony and then hung out for the cocktail hour before heading home to get some baby sleep. Maile Girl stayed for the whole reception and danced for pretty much the whole night. We had been having some dance parties at home in preparation and I think I created a dancing monster. So much fun dancing the night away with Maile Girl!
Daddy and Maile all dressed up and ready for Auntie's wedding!
Mommy and Lauren - taken a few minutes before Lauren passed out for the ceremony 🙂
Let's get this show going!

After Auntie’s first dance it was time for Maile Girl to take the dance floor. First with Mommy:
And then with Daddy:
Before she left for the hotel, Lauren snuck in a dance with Daddy too:

(My daddy apologizes for the lack of posts last week – we were a little busy in Boston celebrating with Auntie Elyssa and Uncle Stephen!)
As you probably already know, my Auntie got married last weekend in Boston. She invited me and Mommy to get ready for her. And let me tell you, getting ready for a wedding is WAY more than just taking a bath and brushing your teeth. We went to this special room in the hotel and me, Auntie, Grandma, Mommy, “her” (Dad note: inside joke) and Uncle Stephen’s cousin got our hair AND makeup done by these two ladies whose job it is to do hair and makeup (how cool is that job?!)
First Auntie gave me a very special bracelet as a gift - it's awesome!
Okay, I'm ready to rock!
Blush
Lip gloss
Awesome!
My sister is SOOOOO lucky, I can't wait until I have more hair!
Oh man, this is so cool.
Mommy says this is called an up do...
... and I can't stop looking at it!
Maile loves playing with the sidewalk chalk at Grandma and Papa Boston’s house – it also helps that they have a nice big driveway to draw on! Yesterday, Mommy taught Maile how to play hopscotch and Maile Girl added some Mandarin flair to the game (mainly by writing the numbers in Chinese). Lauren (with an assist from Daddy) got in on the action too!

Christine took the camera down to our soccer game last weekend. She got some great shots of Maile Girl and the other kids in action…
First we all stretch out...
That is one happy soccer player...
Maile Girl on defense.
Taking a break (mid-game mind you) for some fun with our teammate.
Maile Girl had one great run where she went the length of the field and almost (so close!) scored!
Alright sure, Lauren is watching TV way earlier than Maile did - but how can we resist when they are this cute!
Maile Girl here. As my Daddy reported, last week at swim class I got a ribbon. I was pretty psyched, but also determined to show everyone it was no fluke. I had Mommy bring along the camera to document things and wanted to show all of you how great I’m doing with swimming. I’m not even afraid of putting my face in the water anymore (well, at least as long as I have goggles on). No, really – check out the proof below!
Hi, I'm Maile Fish and I'm learning how to swim!
First you take a deep breath...
... then you put your head ALL THE WAY IN THE WATER!
... and then you come back up for air so you can breath...
Piece of cake, right?
Yeah, I'm getting good at this 🙂

Maile isn’t new to soccer – she started a couple years ago with Soccer Tots and plays at school as well. However, she was never a part of a soccer team until this year when she became eligible to join the Mixed Under 5s PKS Pandas (her school team)!
And Daddy has a new role too – Coach Matt (or Coach Daddy as we agreed Maile could call me). Yes, a life long goal of becoming a kids’ soccer coach has been realized. (In all seriousness, I’ve been very much looking forward to doing this with Maile … and Lauren too when she gets a bit older.)
Coach Daddy and Maile Girl ready to rock!
Our first practice and game went okay – but unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate so it was pretty wet out there. The kids were champs for most of it – but definitely got a little tired and cold. And we need to work on learning which direction the goal is.
Here are a couple videos of what under 5 “soccer” looks like:
This one cracked me up – our team is the green team. Need to work on “engaging” the other team a bit 😉

As you may remember, about two months ago we started swim classes with Maile at a new program called La Petite Baleen. We go Saturday afternoons and I’ve been really impressed with the program – after a little bit of a slow start, Maile is really, well, learning how to swim!
This weekend we hit a huge milestone, Maile earned her first ribbon! (La Petite Baleen has a set of ribbons and other achievements that the kids earn as they go – as you might imagine it works well and Maile has gotten in to going for the ribbons and stickers.)
To earn her first, Rainbow Ribbon, Maile made it through a whole class without crying, she listened to directions and successfully put her face all the way into the water while she was swimming.
Maile has always loved the concept of swimming and being in the water, but she was really clingy – I’ve loved watching as she’s progressed these past couple of months and have a feeling that by the time we get to Hawaii in December she’ll be jumping into the water with abandon!
So proud of Maile Girl for earning her Rainbow Ribbon!

After her bath the other night, I taught Maile how to cross her eyes. (Yes, that’s what I’m here for, the important things.) She hasn’t quite figured it out yet, but she is really, really enjoying trying.
Have a great weekend!

If she doesn’t end up being a doctor, perhaps Maile has a career in PR ahead of her…
