Last week we headed to Chicago to visit with GG Bea and GG Irv for the July 4th holiday. Grandma and Papa Boston came in as well. It was Lauren’s first chance to meet GG Bea and GG Irv and Maile’s first visit since last September. I am always so thankful when I get to visit GG Bea and GG Irv with the girls – and this visit did not disappoint. Lauren charmed with her smiles and giggles and Maile wowed everyone with how much she has grown up this past year.
On Wednesday night when we arrived we went to dinner with GG Bea - that smile was permanent on her face the whole time she was with Maile and Lauren!
On Thursday, Papa Mike and Grandma Jill brought Maile and Lauren to visit with GG Irv (Christine and I were off to a wedding for the day).
More to come on this trip – we also got to spend some quality time with Aunt Julie, Cousin Donna, Uncle Jimmy and the Vick family cousins…
It was raining today, so we thought we’d head into Boston and take Maile to the Science Museum. We never made it – on the way in, we went by this big parking lot with all these different types of trucks in it. We stopped in to investigate and discovered the 5th Annual Charlestown Mother’s Touch A Truck Day! It was completely random … but completely awesome too! We had a blast…
At first, I had Mommy or Daddy come with me on the trucks...
Daddy is a good booster seat that helps me see where I'm going...
Little girl, big truck!
Oh my god, Jake is going to be soooo jealous when I tell him about this!
Maile Girl was all smiles the entire time ...
... except for when someone pressed the siren on the fire engine!
Maile Girl wanted to keep going up the ladder - I thought it best to stop where we were...
Even Papa and Daddy had fun - you're never too old for trucks!
I was finally able to look at some of the pictures Grandma and Papa took last week in NYC and couldn’t resist posting this shot of Maile and Papa…
Lots of WHEEEE with Papa Mike!
It was a great trip and we had lots of fun with Grandma and Papa. We can’t wait to see them again in a couple of months!
